The CCFPD will officially dedicate the Sangamon River Forest Preserve 2-4 PM, September 21st. This new natural area, Champaign County’s fifth forest preserve, is located at 2797 County Road 600 E, Fisher, approximately two miles south of US 136. In addition to a special unveiling, a number of activities are scheduled including nature walks, a chance to write notes for future generations, a contest to guess the age of one of the largest trees while watching how the age is determined, and an opportunity to pose for photos that will be available after the event.
